What makes the difference
A proprietary methodology built with experts, analysing environmental, social, health and animal-welfare impacts.
We audit brands and their products using a single, proprietary and independent methodological framework.
From calculation to eco-design and consumer-facing display, a single tool to steer and showcase your products.
Continuously improved and co-built with an expert committee, Clear Fashion’s impact analysis methodology rests on 4 factors (Environment, Social, Health, Animal welfare) and more than 150 criteria integrating materials, labels, audits and certifications.
It produces the industry’s main calculations (Environmental Cost, LCA, PEF score) while offering a more complete reading of eco-design levers.
Paired with a display designed to be readable and understood by consumers, our approach turns product information into a single, independent decision-making benchmark: the Fashion Score / 100.
Widely endorsed by consumer associations and extensively relayed by the media, the Fashion Score is known to more than 17 million consumers. It strengthens the credibility of information and trust at the moment of purchase.
From product data to consumer-facing display, the Clear Fashion platform gives Product, Purchasing, CSR and Marketing teams a single tool to steer, analyse and deploy.
Fewer silos, less friction, more consistency in execution. Transparency becomes simpler to manage and genuinely high-performing at catalogue scale.

FAQ
Clear Fashion is neither a traceability tool, nor an LCA consultancy, nor an ESG reporting platform. It is a trusted third party specialised in textile environmental labelling, covering the entire chain: product data collection, Environmental Cost calculation (PEFCR methodology, synced with Ecobalyse), AGEC compliance, regulatory declaration, and consumer-facing delivery across every channel (website, app, store).
A traceability tool structures your supplier data. An LCA consultancy produces one-off studies. A reporting tool aggregates corporate indicators. Clear Fashion bridges these building blocks and the end consumer: by turning product data into clear, defensible evidence you can activate across your whole catalogue.
Clear Fashion translates your product data into two complementary levels of information. A compliance level : the Environmental Cost, calculated using the official methodology and declared on the government Ecobalyse portal, ensures your regulatory compliance. A performance level: the Fashion Score /100, a composite score across four impact dimensions (Environment, Social, Health, Animals), gives consumers an immediately understandable benchmark to compare and choose.
This information is delivered across all your channels: a widget embedded in your e-commerce site, pages accessible via in-store QR code, and barcode scanning through the Clear Fashion mobile app (400,000+ users). Field survey data shows that 95% of consumers exposed to this system report an influence on their purchasing decision.
No. Clear Fashion adapts to your data maturity level. Data can be imported via Excel or CSV file, Google Sheets sync, or API if you already have an ERP, PIM or PLM. Automatic quality checks detect inconsistencies on import and suggest corrections.
The Clear Fashion operations team supports data structuring from day one: it is an integrated service, not a self-service tool. Several of our roll-outs started from simple Excel files before evolving towards automated integration.
The Clear Fashion platform is the B2B tool for your teams: collection, calculation, compliance, declaration, steering. The Clear Fashion mobile app is a B2C delivery channel: it lets consumers scan a barcode in store to access the Fashion Score and a product’s environmental information, and also discover the overall impact score of more than 500+ brands.
The two are connected: the data calculated on the platform automatically feeds the mobile app, the e-commerce widget and the QR code pages. For your customers, it is an extra touchpoint with your products. For you, it is a consumer engagement channel included in the system, with no additional development.
An LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) measures a product’s environmental impact across its entire life cycle, following a standardised scientific methodology (ISO 14040/14044, PEFCR). It is a technical calculation, essential for regulatory compliance, and it is what Clear Fashion performs for the Environmental Cost declared on Ecobalyse.
The Fashion Score goes further. It is a composite score out of 100 that integrates four dimensions: environmental impact, but also the human conditions of manufacturing, health (substances, microplastics) and animal welfare. It draws on more than 150 sub-criteria and recognised referentials (PEFCR, GOTS, GRS, OEKO-TEX, BSCI, SMETA). Its aim is not to replace the LCA, but to make it readable and actionable for the consumer. In real-world conditions, 100% of consumers tested understand the Fashion Score effortlessly, while only 55% understand the Environmental Cost.
